Finally I am able to post again – our internet has been stuffed for a while and I have had next to no time (promotion at work = no free time)… Unfortunately I have some sad news, I wont be continuing with my blog any longer. I’ve thought about it alot and no matter how I try and reason the fact of the matter is that at this stage in my life I don’t have the free time to take photos and write posts. I may still post on chictopia every now and then, and I will definitely still be reading and commenting (under my real name though).

So thanks to everyone who read my ramblings and commented on my outfits, you guys rule and maybe in the future I’ll be able to contribute once again.

I know most of you just read the word “Uggs” in the title and cringed. Images of bogans wearing fluro trackies and knee-high tan slippers from Big W (with flower embroidery.. ugh), chuffing on a ciggy and carting around their 3 screaming children are filling your head as you read.. Well I know thats what usually pops into my head when I think of the “Aussie Icon” that is the Ugg Boot.

As much as I usually can’t stand the sight of the things, espeially after spending a year at school in Bendigo (Sorry, fashionable B-town peeps, but you KNOW that its totally the Ugg-capital of Victoria), When I was asked whether I would like to try a pair from Aussie company Whooga, I thought heck, why not – my cheapo Hello Kitty slippers have just died, send them over!

I was pleasantly suprised by the packaging – I am a sucker for nice packaging for sure – it even has a lovely little ribbon that you untie, and the swirly writing is pretty.

And then, drumroll, the uggs themselves:

They are really comfy, and the colour is definately more to my taste than the classic tan colour you see everywhere. The inside is lined with soft sheepskin which is great after a long day at work or shopping!

As far as price goes, they are a little steep but I suppose that they are all 100% natural materials, and are way comfier than anything you’ll ever get from Big W.

This post is SO overdue its not even funny, but ages ago I recieved an email from Natalie of shopittome.com asking me if I would like to check out her site and maybe let you guys know about it. Now, I get emailed ALOT by people from various companies asking me to do write ups about their site/product, but I’ll only ever write about it if I honestly think its good/relevant – shopittome.com is an AWESOME idea, it would be almost cruel of me not to let you know about it.

This site is brilliant for people like me who are lazy, or those of you who don’t have time to go through web pages and web pages or continually check up on prices. Oh, and it’ll help you save a buck or two, which is exactly what we all need at this point in time!

I was actually wearing my Sportsgirl lace tights over a pair of solid black ones, it looked really nice but I couldn’t get a good photo of it unfortunately so you’ll just have to take my word for it!

Got this from Portmans at 40% off – they’re having a sale on knits – it’s so soft and drapey and was marked down from $79.95 to like $47!

I’m so excited for pay-day tomorrow!! I have my eyes set on yet another pair of ankle boots… hopefully I will be able to afford them =]

What I’m lusting over at the moment is a pair of bright coloured heels or wedges with a giant bow on the back to wear with pastel coloured socks, similar to these only a bit more EPIC and BRIGHTER…

I’m thinking that this could easily be achieved with the help of some of those clip-on shoe ornaments.. I’ve had a squizz on ebay and the likes but couldn’t find anything big enough to please me so I’m thinking perhaps a DIY might be the answer – surely it would be relatively simple, I would only need to get my hands on some suitable clips and some ribbon.. and maybe some tacky jewels and sequins just to up the OMG factor.

I wore both of these outfits in the one day, and as you’ll notice they’re pretty much the same outfit except I changed my skirt, added a belt and a scarf in the second one.

I love how by just changing one element of an outfit and adding different accessories you can create a completely different look.

I also love this cardgian – it has little old-fashioned cars on it, so cute and it was only$20!

I really want to laze around my house wearing nothing but sheer leggings, underwear and big chunky cardigans whilst drinking hot tea and gazing wistfully out of the window (also I’d kill small furry animals for the amazing wallpaper in the second photo.. If only Leigh would let me put it up)…

If only I had the endless and thin legs of that model, my hunt for the perfect pair of jeans wouldn’t be so painful.

Finally got my shit together long enough to make an outfit post!! This is actually yesterdays outfit, and as the title suggests I’m finally moving in with my boyfriend.. which means lugging all of my clothing and important belongings (mainly just clothing) into the city – loads of fun when you have no car so therefore have to fill a large bag with as much stuff as possible and drag it along after you on a 2 hour trip involving walking down a long dirt road, catching 2 trains and walking down a long and busy strip of another road. Phew.
But all this means that I now have (most of) my gigantic collection of leggings plus all my oversized singlets and tee’s neatly folded into the hanging storage unit in our now combined wardrobe, as shown here:

.. yes Leigh has 3 shelves of t-shirts, and crazy hawaiian “party shirts”, it’s because he’s rad =]

But anyway.. my leggings!! My new $10 Sportsgirl leggings (on sale of course).. they’re brown and shiny!! Apart from the fact that they were $10 I have no idea why I bought them, even as I was handing the money over I was thinking to myself  “how the hell am I going to wear these????” They look pretty awful with black so I figured good old basic white was probably best for a top, although now that I look at it I sort of wish I had a slightly creamier white singlet instead to soften it a bit more…
The vest I picked up at Femme Connection because it is kind of tacky and horrible and looks like it has, like, flame or butterfly shaped stitching or something but its soft and I love the colour and really, who doesn’t love a bit of tacky rock-n-roll flames/butterfly looking embellishment ESPECIALLY with those little brass studdy buttony things… yeah its pretty much love.

So anyway that is my long and non-sensical, ranty first post back. I’m hoping to stay on track this time (no promises because you all know I suck at keeping them), and also to amp it up a bit – I’m thinking like adding some beauty posts (like product reviews, most likely failed attempts at makeup looks etc), maybe a bit more designer influenced stuff – like wearing a look your own way and all that because its fun playing dress ups… things like that. Let me know if you have any good ideas for posts and such and I’ll schedule it in!

I currently can’t post any outfit shots because I’ve lost my battery recharger, and even if all my batteries were fully charged (why would they want to be, though?) I’ve also lost the little bit off my tripod that keeps my camera from toppling to a certain death onto the concrete below..

So yeah, technical difficulties to the max around here, which is a bit annoying because I actually WORE CLOTHES today (well, clothes that aren’t my work uniform), and I almost even wore heels, but had to change at the last second for a mad dash down my dirt road to meet my friend for lunch… I was sewing and forgot the time heh.

Hopefully this problem will be remedied soon, I should be able to use Leigh’s camera tomorrow or the day after, so I will try and post my outfits from then.

So after my rant about Sportsgirl the other day I wandered in to the Melbourne Central store while killing time before work and picked up these lace tights.. In my own defence, I always have bought tights from Sportgirl because they have a great range and they’re not super dooper expensive either (these were $19.95, which is about the most I’ll pay for special tights). The other thing I bought was a pair of those spandex-like leggings they had in at the start of the month for like $35 or something.. a bit much for me, but they were marked down to $19.95 =]
I also have to say that the staff in that store are by far the nicest and most helpful of any Sportsgirl store I have ever been to – the girl at the dressing rooms was really helpful with info about the leggings (they’re cut really weirdly, I had to buy at XS =/ ) and the girl on registers seemed cheerful and nice.

I was way too excited about the cold weather today, I’m just SO glad its not unbearably hot anymore so I can actually wear all the lovely things I’ve been wanting to =]
